When are we really free? So much time is spent worrying about when work or chores or medication is going to be needed. Humans in this country live lives less than free beings. Slaves to things we don’t care about and pulled by tides that really are not there but our fear and anxiety teaches us other lessons. Its awful how stuck we are. There are clouds above our heads but it feels like fluffy bullies laughing at us. Serendipitous though the laughter may be, bullies they are not but sad… for we see it wrong.

On the roads, there are laws.
In the schools, we have benchmarks and standards.
In churches we have commandments.
In this land we are run by social expectations and accouterments of needed lifestyles.

But none of that exists if we don’t practice it and its all based, or supposed to be based of logic. We are ever free if we want to be. Im not saying there are not consequences if we break laws or social cues. But it has become herd behavior to not think about it. You HAVE to go into work is the set of mind playing the record. One does not be a normal person who weighs out ditching school or work because their happiness is more important to go read a book all day. Thats not normal and that that is good and is important.

Its incredible invigorating when you realize that everything you are doing is a favor, a gift rather than a need. Absolutely everything you do, you can stop. This makes it a giving and to begin to see the world that way takes back your power. And believe me, it has been taken; with social expectations, advertising, made up and well distributed anxieties and phobias and silly, petty people we are expected to be without question. And if there was question we would find the logic missing from many of these instruments.

Consider the dooms as simple changes in a story instead of unspeakable horrors. Losing a job, stepping out of cue, running a red light, being late all have their punishment but they also have chances of being caught and logical places in the world. If your mother is going to get her favorite book signed and there is nobody at the light in front of you and your work is surely not going to give you the day off and a little girl is starving for a toy doll that she can’t afford… well the first thought we have been trained to jump to is already known. But what of the consequences? What if we actually get caught? AND THEN WHAT!? Can it be done safely and morally? Im not encouraging law breaking, even though I do, but I am saying without examination we have nothing but assumptions running a blind world.

If we don’t the standards we uphold nor do we think the actions of our consequences through because we are afraid, not knowing and measured, then we are not really even living but being moved and happen to have a pulse. Contingency plans eliminate the change of life. Staying on one’s toes means staying on the edge. Not that crazy edge where you are thrill seeking and trying to hurt people to get a fix or excited but the edge where life is changing. Comfort is so sought after today. Its the highest form of poison because it causes life to become stagnant, sterile, and eliminates the possibility of change. Often, we can’t even see it happening.
