Many great people grow up from shitty environments. The American concept of pulling one’s self up from their bootstraps sounds heroic while actually being a phrase that meant something one cannot do. This is because even though flowers grow best in doodoo all the inspiring, hopeful and poetic analogies muster up a grand setting of overcoming the impossible all means jackshit diddly-fuck in the measure of the psyche’s makeup and design. What a person keeps and turns into their believes is always their own individual choice. By no means does that mean that a person will constantly reject hurtful and demeaning information when it is all they know. A person can have a surplus of information thrown at them but only when they comprehend and believe it does it become knowledge. The next step is to add experience to cook up what is called wisdom. All this is best applied when changing one’s values because if one examines horrible things then that reinforced stimulation turns to knowledge and wisdom churning a well planned character into a beaten dog. As much as we can chose what we believe, allowing ourselves to have strong stimulus of pain that breaks us down and restricting ourselves from seeing inspiring and uplifting stimulus we will be made of that shitty stuff. The counter argument is that our mind is greater than the world around us. This would be true if we didn’t make the world around ourselves. There is a planet with measurable things; I am six foot eight, I weight 195 lbs, it is sunny out, I finished my last final of the spring semester and hour and eight minutes ago. That is Earth and the knowledge is present. How we frame it and how we decide to move with that is the world we create. I used to be of the persuasion that one’s mind could overcome all in the world but when I realized we make the world around ourselves… well then it clearly occurred, we can overcome forces in the world but since we make the world, we must make a good world or we are battling against ourselves.

Do we deserve to have good stimulus? Doesn’t strife build character and make us stronger if we come out on top? Well, yeah, but you can’t make a car win a race without any fucking gas. The stupid American triumph story of a broke person from a poor family coming up and making their fortune is very uncommon because their world is usually one which beats them down. Your world is in tune with who you are, it resists change otherwise it would be an episode not a series. We don’t deserve good or bad stimulus. The stimulus around us reinforces our values and believes; we allow and place those to flow. The idea of overcoming the odds is absolute idiocy when once realized that the world surrounding a person is created by their own decisions and focus. If one spends 23 hours in hell without involvement then comes and believes strongly only for 1 hour of that day in thyself being great, then only that hour is payed attention to. After a while, life will become strange and distant to them but this example is prime of why drug addicts don’t seem to care about hurting their family, friends, and community to get a little of what gets them going. It’s why a rocket scientist can spend days upon days redoing equations and going through drudgery to see their ship fly. They make one particular stimulus matter, they believe that good piece and not the framing of their situation telling of a boring and irritating life. This is extremely difficult and ridiculously rare, unhealthy and obsessive too. The point is that filling your life with positive stimulus creates the force to be able to make more and that strife is not deserved ever. The world is what you make it, focus on and bring into your life.

It is easy to explain concepts and to forget them without examples. This ideal must be put into action and environment to have any resonance and material to convert to memory and understanding. The idols, comrades, spells, practices and scenes are where our values walk out onto. Our idols are the objects and symbols we keep immediate, intimate and familiar in our lives. If you constantly go to a school with an American flag and you are a strong Anarchist then you’re going to either change or hate yourself and the situation you are in. Again, consistency is the key factor in all of this. The things you wear, drive, put in your home and stare at are the idols in your life. Keep those akin to how you want to feel. If they’re messy then so will the pieces of your life be messy. Comrades are a combination of your friends, associates, family, and routinely seen folks. If these people are consistently pissing you off, then get them the fuck out of your life or get away from them. There are always good people out there who want you around and it makes no goddamn sense to keep hurting yourself. This is your life, change it to fit you and find the paths where you are wanted, needed and celebrated. Spells are phrases we hear then believe and reformat new information to fitting. When your mother constantly spouts how the world is out to get her, that is a spell because your mind will hear, adhere and reformat. Create and insist upon speaking in turns of phrase that bolster you. If you want to be angry, listen to metal all day. If you want to be upbeat, listen to happy hardcore all day. The brain is simple and makes more of what is put into it. Find phrases that are enjoyable to you and direct you towards what you want. Practices are the real play of a life and if you don’t believe them to be helpful or reinforcing a good you, a good you won’t be. Do things that you are good at an enjoy, that make you feel good and productive, able and powerful. Don’t go to a job or a gym or a band practice or a Mosque/Church/Temple/Summoning Circle where you can’t do something and get a final product you wanted. Practice success in small doses to train the heart that it can believe in the big feats. Finally is the scene you make. I used to work somewhere I hated and the image of the place is so small and worthless that I would pretend I was elsewhere when I was there… and that’s dumb, lazy, self-deprecating and ignorant. There is a scene I want to be in, I can see it! But I didn’t seek it. And there is the final step, seek to reinforce your life with the values you care about by changing your actions and environment. It is easy when you remember that you can literally do anything you want right now. You can go to the train station, ask everyone is this is the hogwarts express and speak in an english accent while pretending you’re the new defense against the dark arts professor.

We can make great values easily and righteously. Putting them into practice is what makes them real and creates the life one wants. Build the rocket ship and then reinforce the trip to space with what you need. Fuel up your life and empty the things holding you back. It is your life and you are constantly making it. Make it something you want, asking for more is weird but absolutely doable. Go get it
