There is a western need to be “productive” and it is a cog in the social treadmill. While what one makes and does is all a person can really SEE of what you are, it is not a good approach for the self. To experience and be present is the eastern practice, the buddhist tenant of mindfulness. Rushing one’s self is not a good idea in any light however the need to be productive deems rushing as hustling and trying very hard to finish something when under pressure. All of this is naught for we plan and live our own damn lives, it is still not being in the moment and therefore wasting the moment. Costing one’s life the benefit of being for the sake of whatever thing one is trying to have or make. Having is always minuscule in comparison with being. That being said, we can’t just sit and be constantly if it’s only for sake of being afraid of doing. Go shoot arrows, hike, explore, paint, meet people, start a business, join a club or group that does cool stuff. Those are all doing and while rushing may be part of it the opposite is not being but being stagnant and avoiding life out of fear and depression. Get moving and those things will flow away for their place will be taken.
Repeating one’s self is a clear telltale sign of fear and stagnation. It demonstrates that one does not think people will understand or receive them so they must keep saying things differently to address their fear. And that’s the important thing to see, that process is addressing their own fear and not the message or reception.
Being comfortable with change and seeing new things is not something a scared, stagnant person does well. If you see this in yourself then force it, cuz fuck why not? The action will be glitchy but you can fall into place with that method. Alternatively you can find a space where you feel comfortable and let that emotion be a place of solace and normality to put your mind as change becomes the situation at hand.
Worrying about people more than the tasks at hand. And remember that the self is people, too. When your gf’s or bf’s dad asks a riddle and you freak out because they’r going to judge you. That is just silly and restricts the riddle itself from being fun or heard. Get into the function and then the people will see you for who you fully are. Not that their opinion of you matters more than your own. Fear not them because your thoughts on you are most important.
Not balancing criticism with creativity and followed action. It is easy to get stuck in nitpicking little pieces off something claiming to be great. As one finds more and more wrong with the world though, what is right and how are they helping? Each action of evaluating and finding issue with
Appealing to mystery and wonder is a horrible way to create a stigma and pervasive theme of ignorance and inability. If something confuses you, go fucking figure it out. Letting that wonder sit and the world to remain ambiguous makes one out of control in it. Seeking or deeming more things to be mysterious grows a need for wonder and disgruntled lack of success. Examine things and do not let wonder rule or color your life unless it is to go then and figure it out.
Enduring bullshit instead of fixing problems and improving one’s life demonstrates a sloth and self-loathing. Fixing little things is easy and everyone knows it, if it were your little brother or sister or subordinate then the directions would flow freely. Allow yourself some space to correct yourself in this way and make yourself go fix shit. You deserve better and doing differently is punishing yourself.
Avoiding chasing dreams for sake of laziness, distractedness, escaping for no reason. Why don’t we chase our dreams? Take simple little steps at first, be fine with failure because you will get back up and learn from the mistake, and believe that it is possible. Look deeply at why we aren’t doing it and measure the consequences of a life without those goals completed. Look at an empty life as unacceptable as it truly is and let that irritation start to move you forward.
Why aren’t you enjoying life? Do you resent the rich and successful? Do you think there’s work to do so fun can wait? Do you have no drive? OK, that is all fine then. But if something sucks then something must be good, that’s how it works. So look at what is good and who can do that. Then use the science of drafting, go copying them. Aim at somewhere amazing to fantasize about, admit and accept where you are then start working the points between both calculating and moving.
