If everybody works hard, they do well in life, right? Well yeah, if everybody started at the same point. But that’s not life. There’s accidents, horrible parents, medical mishaps, rainstorms, maybe your best friend’s uncle gets cancer and when you go with her/him to visit said uncle then hospital has the power go out and you get stuck inside for two days and miss your final so you don’t graduate hs; shit happens. BUT THERE’S MORE RANDOM. If you are born white, male, good looking, you are now privileged above everyone else. If you are born in southern California, you privileged above most of the world. If you are not born handicap, if you are born smart, if you are born into money etc and bigger scale etc. then you are goddamn lucky and others fucking aren’t. Money does not flow logically or directly with hard work, there is an enormous amount of variability on birth luck and normal luck involved that affect one’s life.
Humans have evolved to be defensive to their groups as it benefits their survival and their children’s survival. This makes people stupid as they jump to defend their group before they logically evaluate the situation. Look up the illusion of asymmetric insight, no true Scotsman fallacy, self-perception theory, narrative theory, the Benjamin Franklin effect, in-group and out-group psychology if this idea is not extremely transparent to you from human experience.
People want to see themselves as sufficient and strong. People who have more money than others are in a different group. The lesser money having group, resents the more money having group… this is normal human psychology. One group wants to believe they’re good and other groups are bad. This is why poor people resent rich people and instead of doing what rich people do that makes them rich, bad habits repeat and poor people stay poor. It is not because they’re dumb or lazy. It is mainly because of out-group psychology and shitty luck. People will not admit to themselves when they’re broke that it is bad and that changing their ways is OK as it is admitting their team sucks; it is ingrained at an evolutionary level. Don’t hate people for this and stop fucking doing it, that shit is dumb and behind the times.
If somebody had malaria, you’d help them, right? A fucking mosquito bit them and now they’re dying, that sucks! So like, how is that different a circumstance than just the same bad luck of being born poor, to a society who gives your race, gender, culture, and mental persuasion who is treated crazy?
One of the bigger issues holding back these idea from being transparent is that people think they’re rich and the poor people will take all their money if socialism is put into place. IF YOU DONT MAKE OVER 10 MILLION DOLLARS A YEAR, YOU ARE NOT RICH. THAT IS NUMBERS, THEY DON’T LIE, STOP BULLSHITTING. The wealthy people in this country have gotten enough people to believe that the poor people will take their money. The poor have been effectively demonized and the slightly less poor and been efficiently tricked into believing they’re not poor. We have royalty, they just don’t wear crowns and are hidden from their peasants and safe from revolution because those peasants have been tricked into fighting each other. We have the technology and abundance that as a species we don’t need a worker class. We have a slave class because it is part of the economic treadmill in our current system and to pull out one piece would break the whole machine. Capitalism is built to produce this, not a fair system that is OK and safe. We live in an individualistic society so westerners have been raised with competition as being RIGHT in an elementary sense… and that’s not stupid but its not accurate across the board. Accepting your shitty job, ie minimum wage, and defending is what companies want; Obedient slaves are great for companies. Why would the person at the top want to give less money to him/herself as that would make them less powerful and the next more ruthless person would take over. The system of thought, individualism, keeps the companies cut throat so they must lie to their lowers. Companies are machines to make money, they pay their workers as little as possible and find ways of keeping them “happy” or they punish them; usually with socialization. The news stations are companies. Those in charge of those companies are the rich. Why would the rich NOT WANT to keep the poor majority in the dark. TV is lying to the public, it makes sense for their safety to do so.
In conclusion, ask for help or you’re being an idiot and be OK helping people in need or you’re being a dick. This includes issues with money
