Planning for trouble while simultaneously striding for great is a cumbersome juggle and jive. The decision to accept failures could happen is the openness to ignorance that marks brilliance. Being able to step forward with power in your stride and confidence in that style is also that blend of powerful. They do not have to clash.
One must be able to examine their faults or else they will protect them. This requires an honesty and release from anxiety and fear that is not easy for humans. A great exercise is to imagine a person just like you in every way. This cat has all your goals, restrictions, irritations, debts, talents and blah blah but they’re not you. Advising this person is way easier. Accepting the issues and faults at hand is gold.
Seeking to be great is not cocky but eager and prime. As a person asks for a date, a promotion, a research grant, to not be insulted by their boss over a new funny hat, the nature they do this massively defines the reaction. Not only must action be involved but the belief that the action is of success and that success is deserved. Subtracting these is like pulling out the axl on your dream’s wagon. They must be present and well functioning.
To do both of these things seems contradictory in nature to the untrained eye. Looking for failures is actually strategizing for success. The clear path is easy to strut down. As one acts confidence they need a set stage. Learning to know these two feats as brethren is ideal to growth and being self-aware and self-actualized. It’s not difficult as an action, only as a concept for being foreign.
