A person’s will is boundless. Each of us may not decide to use all of it or nearby a fraction of it in the far away future we yearn for instead of willing for. No matter, for in the world we live in everyone seems afraid of being used, falling in line, queuing up, taking orders and so forth. People give up control of themselves. And how, I must ask? Does a person not push their arms outward to hug their leaders? Does a person not control their words when they tell the hungry to leave their doorstep? Does command over their own heart leave them when they decide who and what they swear behind? Is there not always a decision to accept an emotional state as right and fit instead of call it silly and dismiss it?
In a group there usually forms a leader. Human social herd behavior wills it so and folks bend as such ways. To be a leader you get charged. Not formally but always informally of giving orders and taking control of the rest of the members in some way. Yet, a mutiny is what you fear, a rebellion is always possible, a coup de grace, a new election… because people do not permanently give away their power, they agree to your orders. When a boss yells at you or redirects you it requires your compliance to mean anything at all. Otherwise, its a silly person being ignored and irate about it. The response is what makes it power. Takes it from silly to strong. You have the choice to be autonomous in both your response to orders and the next step you take; rebellious or loyal, it is your action.
My next step is a bit of socio-emotional gymnastics. Because you never have to receive anger from anyone, no matter how loud they yell or hard they hit. It is a response and one can decide to do something else. Every human being is currently aware of thousands of things that aren’t exhibiting a response yet one will. So one wills it and that is a choice even if its normally a trained response that seems the only option. When a boss, police officer, bully, team captain, Becky, or whoever tells you what to do remember that it is your choice to listen and your actions you are about to make. So own them, do them your way but understand they belong to you. Its neither excusable nor dismissed nor anything our of your control if you do it. So enjoy it and own it. Whether you have to shovel shit or write a dumb paper or dance with that ugly guy; it is your action to take and you can stop whenever you want. Every action is in your control. You can punch through this computer screen right now, if you so willed it. Step outside of the premise that your actions are not your control, that’s learned stupidity. You are always your own boss. You want the paycheck, but you can do so many things wrong and differently to get it, whats more is you can look at every action any way you want to. And the way you perceive it makes it the most real. If you push somebody in an oven because the Fehrur told you to or you fondle somebody in a way that they love you forever and are filled with feelings of ecstasy and bliss because they told how to do it or if you draw something up that changes the world. You are always in control of you, don’t forget that.
