When a person criticizes another, they’re pointing out logical flaws and seeing details of error. Responding in defensive pessimism, a perception seeking the worst and framing situations as hurtful and wrong, gets sad and tells them to not be so cynical, that is that people are only concerned with themselves and a doubt of good happening. Person being criticized has judged, reached an end verdict of their worth and actions, the criticizer in their reaction. All of these are different words. To have adequate growth one must be able to logically see themselves. Quite often this takes outside vision to be an accurate perspective on the topic. Understanding the difference between these terms is quintessential to understanding one another.
