If you look at something differently then you change that something. There is a real world which is measurable, finite, and consistent. And with those facts people create their own world in how they frame, approach and feel about the pieces of that world. If you go into driving like it is hell then it is surely going to be hell. More prudently explained if you think people are trying to steal your lane then you will be paranoid the whole time. Alternatively if you think you are playing MarioCart and the road belongs to you then the drive will be delightful; the second you may be the stem of the believe that the first you has but not entirely. It is important to note autonomy is powerful. What people do to you affects you WHEN you let it. Nobody instantly hurts your feelings rather your thoughts about it are what cause your feelings to be hurt. The same go with your thoughts about being able to do something or something being fun. Life is quite a subjective experience which means there are always more ways of looking at things. People have the choice to create the framework they way.

Time, is not something mankind can accurately define or measure. We know now, then, and soon as well as having set in measurements for rates but when you get down to the nitty gritty of time we are not really sure what to make of it as it applies to us. There is the fact that if you go fast enough then time slows down. There is also the human function which says if you are enjoying yourself then time goes much faster. That is something we can control and once you start to bend and adjust your control of time everything changes. You become more able, more aware, more calm, and most importantly more engaged. We live in a society where learning happens at a rate and that is fucking stupid. If you can learn how to do calculus in two weeks or in twenty minutes, well then you still know goddamn calculus. However in school and work we are given inaccurate praise and punishment decidedly on this measurement of time. I hate tests but I remember better the questions I got wrong; for this purpose I have stopped so much studying for tests at my current point in college because I learn better this way. And that is just fucking stupid. Here, is a moment for an example. When I say it is fucking stupid, one can look at my getting worse grades than I am capable and see that as being the stupid OR one can take the means of school being to learn and see that I learn better by doing worse on a test and reviewing it afterwards to see that my grade does not accurately reflect my knowledge in the subject. In the latter school is restrictive and inaccurate for its means. Society does that quite often. Tell me the first government was great I’ll see that no improvements were necessary so my point will be null. Things have purposes but people get caught up in their practices, red taped past logical reason. Constantly be weary of this because doing so will make you more effective by dodging bullshit put in place for idiots and mismanaged. If there is a redlight at 3am and nobody coming for miles either direction then run the light. The color red does not restrict your movement but is a representation of a rule put in place that is not currently relevant.

Functional fixedness is a mental bias where we see things in a certain way and never allow it to change thus making something dynamic into something permanent. It can ruin relationships, engineering projects, books, and everything that exists because it is literally the brain NOT THINKING. Often we have such strong emotional reactions to one frame or approach that it feels ridiculous to not believe that thought. But thoughts must be critically analyzed not appealed to emotionally. Otherwise we would be controlled by trauma’s, fears, stimulating marketing, and insecurity poking insults. I am not saying TV and politics is stupid but if the idiot box fits…There’s ways around it.

Change your approach to things you don’t like or cannot do well. If you keep going at math like it is shitty and painful and people hate you because you aren’t a wizard at it, then it’s going to suck. If you went at sex or eating candy like that, then it would suck too. I decided in my second year of college to approach math like it was a puzzle and that puzzles were fun. My trigonometry professor was not fond of me because I stayed longer on tests because I was having fun. Read that again, I was having fun. With math. It is how one looks at a thing that makes that thing what it is to us. When I left the hospital after an injury I needed a lot of sleep. After I had fully recovered I was still sleepy during those times of day when I had needed to nap before. Paranoia set in. Was I still injured? No. Then I did a lot of reading on adjusting one’s biological clock and where sleepiness comes from. In many countries people sleep in the high noon. The biological reason is that when it is that hot on the inside of our bodies then our organs and muscles becomes more exhausted; siestas are now explained. I looked up if it was sunlight deprivation or dislike. Nocturnal animals exist so why do I need to be awake during the day? Sunlight produces vitamin D and that is really good for us! So my being able to be up until 5am but tired in the mid afternoon made no biochemical sense. Then I tried approaching noontime like it was a scene from a western style anime that I love called Trigun. Suddenly I had reason to pursue wakefulness resonating with cool backstory and strong memories. This is what fixed it for me. The approach to a thing can be instantly changed by thinking about it.

The way you frame a situation create the next possible frame. Being around someone who is bipolar is extremely difficult. If you look at them like a great beast who needs to endure darkness for a few hours or days before they come back into bloom, ready to dance and speak of beautiful things no one else could have thought up then you can love them. But if you let the pain of their darkness set in the way someone else deals with darkness then you have misunderstood them and that is insulting. It goes on to not allow a better following step. That is the key to framing something best, see where you want it to lead you. If you call a situation a sinkpit then the extremely likely next situation is to sink… flip the camera and take the directors chair then call it the lull in the story and you have become star of the rising action.

People are always free to be whoever they want to be. Seeing people otherwise creates a permanence in your mind that differs from reality by restricting humans from their natural actions… and that’s pretty dumb. It holds you back in favor of being mentally lazy and unengaged. Allowing people the space to be something new is healthy. Providing people space to be great is something pretty simple to do that the past can hold back but the future propels people forward. And so are we to learn new.
