Definitely one of the best teacher’s I have ever encountered.
~ Juliana
I just want to tell you how much I appreciate you.
Not only are you the most caring professor I’ve ever had, you’ve taught me so much about life and your essentials of argumentation course has stuck with me and proved useful at my university. If I didn’t take that class, I would be so lost here.
And because you are so effective in your teachings, I actually remember how to properly structure/write an argument and I am able to use that knowledge for research.
No other class or professor prepared me for that type of writing; and for you, I am grateful!
Love you, Jack!
~ Tina
Hey Jack!
Sorry this is late and I’m not here to harass you but to kinda thank you.
So you know how last class we talked about being Responsive Listeners and how it could change the emotions for someone or something like that.
Well to make long story short my sister and I haven’t been talking for while and every time we have it’s always short conversations with a one word response most of the time we were on our phones while talking.
Today I decided to try something different so I put my phone and hers on silent and zipped it up in my bag. And we talked. I didn’t think it was gonna last but we talked for so long and she was actually able to talk to me about how she feels and stuff. We don’t live under the same roof anymore so it felt great to have that connection with her again.
Anyways yea that’s my little story and I just wanted to share it and say Thank You!
Thank you so much!
~ Bunny
Ten years ago you taught me everything I know about Interpersonal Communication at Fullerton College. You were and always will be the best instructor/professor I’ve ever had. Every time I speak I think of what you taught us.
Your presence came into my memory today and I had to find you!
Thank you for everything Jack! You’re an amazing soul and a life changing force.
May the winds of fortune forever blow your way!
~ @timetoplaythejames
Good Morning Jack.
Just wanted to take a moment to thank you for my biggest take-away from your class . . . listening and being excited about everything. It has changed my life – especially with my kids.
Like today, Justus loves watching Anime in Japanese with English subtitles. All summer long he will pause the show and talk to me about it. Because you taught me the importance of listening, I stop what I’m doing and keep eye contact with him and I am excited that he is excited.
I’m not into anime, but I am certainly into listening to what is important to my children, including anime.
Thank you Jack.
~ Grace
Hi Jack!
I don’t know if you remember me but I took your class at FJC in 2008.
I just wanted to say thank you for the strong messages you post on Instagram. Those are very inspirational and give me courage. Things have been difficult for me since I came back to Japan two years ago, but you’re helping me a lot without knowing it.
So, thank you so much.
~ Atsumi
Thank you for tonight!!!
You were absolutely amazing as always!
~ Alexis
Hey Jack!
I just wanted to check in to see if all is well. I’ve been having my fair share of struggles but I’m slowly pulling myself out and becoming the person I’ve dreamed of being.
I periodically reminisce the life lessons I’ve learned from you and your book. I just want show my gratitude for the wisdom you bestowed upon me, you have helped me in ways unbeknownst to you and I will be forever grateful. I am also curious about the status of your future novels. I am eager to read another piece of literature of yours.
I am under the opinion that your work is comparable to that of the famous author Paulo Coelho.
Keep it up Jack!
~ Mitchell
I love you Jack Mierop.
It was many many years ago when I took your eye-opening class on interpersonal communication. I can say most people don’t know this much-needed info on healthy relationships, boundaries, and speaking your truth at an appropriate time, in a kind and appropriate manner.
I want to share your book with my wonderful friends.
Please check it out!!!

Let me tell you Mr. J,
this year I’ve decided to work on myself and maaaaan am I happier than I’ve been in a very long time.
Ps: always love reading your posts

I had a terrible mental breakdown on my way to Interpersonal Communications class tonight.
I almost didn’t go, but I’m glad I did.
I left with an incredibly positive state of mind.
you’re missing out big time.
Go to Fullerton College.
Take his class.
Go.
Do it.
~ Krista
One of the best professors I’ve had by far in college. I’ve taken two classes with him, wish he taught more!
Jack Mierop you are full of passion and personality. I looked forward to your classes and never went a day without laughing. Thank you for being such a great teacher!
“It’s easy to make a buck. It’s a lot tougher to make a difference.” ~ Tom Brokaw.
You’ve truly made a difference!
~ Sarah
P.S., So I was walking to class the other day and some girl walking behind me was on her phone and she was saying, “I think that Tuesdays and Thursdays are gonna be my favorite days ’cause I have class with that teacher named Jack.” I’m so jealous. 🙁
Hey Jack!
So I’m not sure if I ever told you, but my sister works for the Clinton campaign and I’m up here in San Jose right now helping her with whatever she needs.
Today, a speaker came in and he did a presentation that was filled with stats and articles from the election and he kept pointing out fallacious material and things to fire up the Clinton volunteers. I just wanted to tell you because it was so nice being able to follow along and understand his findings that were fallacious and what not!
Miss you and the class!!! Hope you’re having a fun summer!
~Desiree
So today I had to present something in my English class, the first public speaking task I’ve had since your class.
Wow have you helped, I was actually excited and not the nervous excited! Actually excited! I was loud I didn’t shake my posture was good, I don’t recall any “ums”, I didn’t even bring a paper up to read from!!
You guided me into being this person and I can’t thank you enough.
I felt so proud of myself today, thank you Jack.
~ Kristine
I don’t think I’d be where I am today if it wasn’t for the skills I learned waaaaaay back in 2008 when I took Jack Mierop’s Interpersonal Communication class at Fullerton Community College.
And that’s all I have to say about that.
~ Michelle
Hi Jack!
I’m going to miss you so much!! So glad I got to experience such a great professor my freshmen year!!
You have changed my life.
I forever owe you.
~ Hilda
It truly has been an honor being in your class. The wisdom that you possess and the way in which you translate that wisdom onto us is mind blowing. Through your experiences, I was able to understand my son, and through your experiences I was able to heal.
You are a guiding angel . . .
~ Ana
Jack,
I wanted to share with you that I did a presentation for my Cub Scout pack tonight about scouting with disabilities. I never would have been able to even think about presenting to a room of 100+ people if not for being in your class. This was my last requirement for a Boy Scouts of America training that is an 18 month process.
I am truly grateful that I chose your class!
~ Vicki
~ Rebecca
Hi Jack!
I hope you are doing well.
It was so good seeing you at the seminar, I always learn so much from you. My friend Dezzy took a lot from your talk as well. Whenever she is feeling down or vice versus we make sure we tell each other to live in the now and not worry about the past or the future, which is something we learned from the Great Jack! 🙂
I’m sorry to hear about your father, I hope you are doing ok! Thanks again for teaching me valuable life lessons that have changed my mind set, you’re the best!
Talk soon,
~ Vani
Jack:
Been meaning to get in touch with you.

Hello Jack!
How have you been?
You likely don’t remember me but I was in your class about 10 years ago. Your class was probably my favorite at CSUF. For that, I thank you. I hope you’re doing great and making freaking great college experiences for new students.
Have a great week, sir!
Regards.

Hey Jack,
Just wanted to say I’m really enjoying your class and I love the talks I have with my family about everything I learn in your class. It’s a learning experience for the whole family. 🙂

Thanks for everything Jack!

Jack!
I still need to buy one of your books!
Your Public Speaking class at Cal Poly is still one of the best classes I’ve ever taken!
~ Jackie
I just want to say that the compassion and support I felt from everyone in the class yesterday was incredible. Never had a class made me feel the way I did yesterday. More than anything, though, I felt comfortable and important.
Just thought I’d share it with you.
Thank you again.
~ Lili
Class was amazing; didn’t want to get up and pee! But I know my bladder didn’t want to hold it 🙁 , so I miss 3 minutes of who knows what. Note to self: Bring a pee cup and a mini fan and I’m good. 😉
~ Alondra
Hi Jack!
I really enjoy your class and your lectures. I always feel so inspired when I leave your class! Just know you really make a difference in people’s lives.

I say this (or something like it) almost daily. If you guys have not checked out Jack and jackupyourlife.com/ (same name in Instagram [@jackupyourlife]) you really should. Very insightful man, wonderful quotes, fantastic author, awesome professor. Every single person in my life could do with a little (or a lot) of his insight.
~ Andi
What an amazing man. Everything that everyone says about him is true. He completely changed my outlook on life and I would take this class over and over again. Went from a shy, insecure person to a confident, outgoing one. Looked forward to the class, even though it’s speech. His lectures are wonderful and so is his book.

If you went to community college in OC, who was your favorite professor?
Jack Mierop at Fullerton College
~ Jake
Gotta go with Jack Mierop at Fullerton College. His Interpersonal Communication class was amazing, and the skills I learned six years ago still stick with me today.

When I took Jack Mierop’s (the most amazing class) class he said: “A bad attitude is like a flat tire, you won’t go anywhere till you fix it.” Wise words from an amazing professor! @jackupyourlife

Reminds me of my college days . . . Missing my philosophy and theory classes. Thankful I’ve had the opportunity to have taken some classes from some very influential people. @jackupyourlife thank you for sharing your knowledge.
~ Kaisa
Hey Jack.
I just wanted to say thank you very much for your class. It helped change me a lot. It opened my eyes to a lot of things. As you may know I did go through a breakup during that time. Your class helped me realize that we needed to breakup because her constant negativity was starting to bug me and become a burden. I needed to be selfish for once and put my needs and happiness before anyone else. I thank you Jack for all the great lessons you taught me.
I’m a much happier man now.

Thank you for a wonderful semester. You were an amazing teacher and I won’t forget the life lessons you taught me. I was being completely honest when I said that this class has helped me feel that anything is possible as long as I believe it is. I’ve learned to take control of my own life and my own happiness. I do hope to keep in touch with you.
Thank you again for an amazing class.

No matter how hectic my week is going or how exhausted I am . . . I am always so grateful I went to my Thursday night class. I feel so empowered and like I can conquer whatever comes my way. Bring it on world, I got this!
Jack,
You should be getting a new follower on Instagram. I keep sharing Your Daily Consideration and she loves them! So I told her to start following you. Thanks so much [for] an amazing semester! I always loved the energy and words you had for us . . . And yes I used an absolute BUT its totally true
~ Amanda
THANK U JACK.
As Mandy said, I wish there was a greater word than thank you to express my gratitude. You truly changed my life for the best. Thank you for creating a safe environment conductive to caring about others. Thank you for caring so much and thank you for bringing the best in all of us. I feel sad that you won’t be part of my life every thursday, but I look forward to keep in touch and keep learning from you.
~ Rocio
Mr. Mierop!
How are you?
I am an old student of yours from good ol’ Santa Ana College. I took Debate & Argumentation also Interpersonal Communication and you were my professor! Anyway, I am now working on attaining my Bachelor’s (Still) from Ashford University via online. There is no turning back now & have zero regrets! I must say, your classes are what inspired me to continue after all these years! So thank you for your wisdom and passion!
Respectfully,
~ Maggie
I have learned so much from you and looked forward to coming to your class everyday. Keep doing what you’re doing because you are great at it and you are very much appreciated.
Always,
~ Michelle
Jack,
You are the best teacher I have ever had. I’m so thankful that you are such a caring and inspiring person because it made me realize how much just a smile can completely change someone’s day. The people in my life notice a difference, and I do too.
Thank you!
~ Lauree
Hey Jack!
Just wanted to tell you that you’re in my thoughts all the time, and that I’ll be forever grateful for everything your class gave me, and for what you personally gave me, and what you continue to give me every day. You never stop inspiring me, and you’re someone who’s spirit will stick with me forever! Just wanted you to know that. Have a dinner that I can attend soon so we can finally catch up.
I miss you dearly!

I was not known as a number, but by my name.
It wasn’t a class I dreaded, but a class I looked forward to.
I didn’t have a boring teacher who lectured, but a funny teacher who shared with me his wisdom.
It was my first semester in college and I can definitely say that professor Jack Mierop changed my life and the way I look at things now. I just wanted to thank you for being the best HCOM professor on campus.
This is the only class that I will miss next semester . . .

“If at first you don’t succeed, so much for sky-diving”
First off I was planning to let you know this before you told us on Wednesday to say nice things to people (It just encouraged me to actually write this instead of just thinking about it), but I think you are doing an awesome job with our class. Watching you teach, I can tell that you enjoy doing it. There are too many teachers who are paycheck players, just teaching because it’s money in their pocket. Those that are doing it because they love it are the ones making the biggest difference.
Thank you for making a difference.
~ Josh
JACK IS AN AMAZING TEACHER! Most passionate and caring teacher I have ever met. A true genius. Loved every second of his class. I would think of him not only as a professor but as a friend. Amazing man, amazing professor. TAKE HIM!!!

I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to write me such a nice letter of recommendation for transferring. I recently found out I was accepted to Loyola Marymount University and am still waiting to here back from the other two schools. I’m sure your letter played a key part in my acceptance. Thank you for all your support of my academic endeavors. I have yet to enjoy and gain as much from a class as I did in your advocacy and argument class.
Once again, thank you for taking the time to help me.
Sincerely,
~ Pilar

Self realization is a long hard road, you have the tools and abilities to teach a multitude of people Jack, you have a wonderful spirit and an amazing smile, you light up peoples hearts and makes everyone around you feel better and not worry about their problems. I am one of your biggest fans, yet I am also a man of vision, have fun and dont forget to love yourself brother, when you love yourself first, you will super-nova into Jack 2.0 and I think the world is waiting to hear your voice, your voice WILL be heard. I love you bro. Hopefully I can attend your class again in the Spring.

Hi Jack,
Well, where can I begin? Thank you for being the best teacher I’ve had so far. Thank you for caring so much for us. The way you told us that you looked forward to seeing us is the same way we felt about seeing you. You found a special way to open our hearts and minds. Thank you. I don’t know how else to express or describe how much I loved and enjoyed your class.
. . . it was the best!
Well Jack, I hope you have an excellent year!

Merry Christmas Jack!
Thanks for everything this semester! I really learned a lot, and learned a lot about myself. I loved how you made the classroom a fun atmosphere.
Thanks again for everything.

Hey Jack,
I just wanted to drop a quick thank you for what your class did for me and how much I used the skills this past week. My Grandpa passed away on Memorial Day and I had to speak in front of 200 people at his funeral. I feel your class gave me the tools to be able to speak with poise and not get too worried about getting up there to give a speech.
Thank you SO much,

Hello Mr. Mierop,
I just wanted to let you know that you made my semester very enjoyable. I appreciate your teaching methods a great deal. I feel like you allow people to enhance their strengths while giving speeches, especially me. I’ve Always been very monotone and now I feel like more emotions come through my speeches along with humor. 🙂
~ Ebelynn
Dear Jack,
I am so lucky to have met such a wonderful professor and person like you. I wish you a wonder filled birthday and another year closer to death (yay). I’ll make sure to keep in touch for the future years to come.
HAVE A GREAT LIFE Mr. Jack!
Sincerely,

Jack!
Thank you for making me feel special just like your other students. You are such a happy presence and always create a really comfortable and light-hearted environment around you. Thanks for reminding me not to take myself too seriously.
Your future editor,

Jack!
It’s already over? Anyways, given that you can’t afford me with money, you deserve my uttermost gratitude and appreciation! Thanks for caring and being honest with me and the things I was going through. Even though you gave me a hard time at times, I would like to say thank you for giving me a challenge! You are truly one of the best teachers I’ve had. I pray that whatever you may be doing the rest of your life (teaching) that you have fun and enjoy every minute of it!
I’m gonna miss you. Have a great summer!
Take care,
~ Thao
It was truly an honor to be in your class. I had a great time this past semester and your teaching style helped me and the rest of the class get through a tough class and I appreciated your enthusiasm as a teacher.
Thank you,
~ Dervin
Hi Jack!
First I just wanted to say thank you so much for making your class fun and entertaining and interactive. It really changes the class for me when I am able to get to know my teacher and classmates a little!
Thanks!
~ Kristen
I just wanted to let you know I enjoyed class today. I love your class. Even though I got nervous at the beginning it was still a learning experience. 🙂
~ Crystal
Thanks for all you do!
~ Courtney
A big thanks to Jack Mierop for giving me the push I needed to start seriously looking into publishing. Editing my poetry since the beginning of this month, and the first time I’ve gone and re-read my words in years.
Excited for the editing process and hoping to be publish-ready by the end of the year.
~ Jasmine
I just wanted to thank you for tonight’s class, it was an amazing experience.
I have never left a class feeling so good, I left the class with a higher self-esteem. I believe that what you are doing/teaching is amazing. You are definitely a unique and loving person, so thank you for being yourself.
I really liked the story of the 3 masons/block builders, it was very inspiring, I believe that I want to be the man building the lighthouse.
Anyhow, thank you for everything, this class changed my life and the way I view things. Like I said, this class was like therapy for me.
Thanks much.

It just keeps me in place and redirects me to my goal of getting that degree. Thanks Jack. I can’t imagine college with out you. Keep doing what you do best. I am sure I am not the only one who feels this way.
~ Brenda
This teacher is really good. He doesn’t lecture from the book and his tests are on the lectures. He talks a lot about his personal life, but he engages students in discussions about things they can relate to. He also has these workshops to practice new communication skills. I learned so much from this teacher and I still go back to him with questions about everything.

I have earned my CRLA level one certification today! My parents and grandmother have been an awesome support system through all of this and I wouldn’t have made it through this semester or many others without my boyfriend either. But I also wanted to thank a few people for helping me believe in myself. When I received my certificate, the main thing Joyce wanted to point out was my confidence. I truly believe that this quality comes from the way I grew since last fall. For this I want to thank Jack Mierop for all the valuable skills and life lessons, without the assertiveness gained from your class I would have been so lost this semester, or I may not have taken the risk at all . . .
~ Jessica
Dear Jack,
As if I didn’t say enough in my End of Semester Presentation, there are so many things I have yet to say!
First, I am so thankful for everything you have taught me. I was in such a dark place in my life before this class and Wednesday nights in your class brought me back to life. I’m glad I got to learn things in a different light because it made me realize that people weren’t going to change for me because I was unhappy. This class helped me become more active in my life with my relationships, my feelings, everything.
Thank you Jack. You’ve made a difference in my life!
I’ll never forget you, what I’ve learned and I’ll never feel the same about Wednesday nights.
~ Camille
Dear Jack, (Mr. New Jersey turned Californian)
I really enjoyed your class and more importantly I learned a lot from you about communication and about life. You really are a terrific teacher. Best of luck!
Love,
~ Christine
~ Jazmin
Jack,
Just thought you should know that your class has changed my life so much. Not only with the way I communicate with others, but also with school. I really haven’t been all that focused with school, where I really wanted to do really well. But you have changed all of that, so with that I thank you.
Thanks,
~ Mike
Mr. Mierop has completely dismantled my concepts regarding interpersonal communication. He is open, self-disclosive, sensitive and caring of all the students. I am grateful that [the college] has instructors of this caliber. Kudos to Jack!!

Dear Jack,
I just wanted to tell you thank you for listening to me that one day, when I was sad about my dad. Also for being concerned even after that day. Although my future does not seem to be doing any better, I know that he, as well as I, thank you for being understanding toward the situation we are in. You know how to listen. That makes you a great teacher. You were the only one of my instructors who cared. I hope that someday I can do the same for my students as you did for me.
Thank you again,
~ Amanda
Thank you, Jack!
I must say that your style of instruction is quite refreshing and unlike anything I have ever experienced in the past. You definitely have a gift with your ability to relate to youngsters as well as the old farts like me. I appreciate your teachings and actually look forward to your class each week.
~ Roni
I really had fun and enjoyed your class a lot!
~ Vicki
I just wanted to stop and say that I had a great time in our first class today and that I look forward to the rest of the semester. You’re the first teacher of my freshman year that really got me excited to come to class. I think your class will be fun and challenging and I can’t wait until our next class meeting.
Sincerely,
~ Nick
Jack,
I wanted to write a little note of thanks. In all my years of school, I have never had more fun, wanted to go to class and enjoyed everyone’s company. But, what made that environment was you! You are great at what you do. Thank you for showing all of us that school can be fun. Thanks again.
God bless.
~ Heather
Jack Mierop,
I wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed your class. I feel that I learned a lot throughout the semester, most of which I will carry with me for the rest of my life. I think you are an excellent professor. It is nice to see a professor who is always willing to help their students out.
Overall, I just wanted to say thanks for everything.
Sincerely,
~ Robyn
So far professor Mierop has created a terrific classroom experience for me. His lectures are very fun! He’s witty with a comedian tendency, which makes for interesting classroom discussions. As to topics he covers . . . let’s just say they are revolutionizing my relationships and the way I talk to everyone (my boss, my friends, complete strangers) it’s great! If you can . . . TAKE HIS COURSE!!!

Dear Jack,
I truly appreciate your time and your kindness. It was an honor for me to be in your class this past summer. I certainly learned and matured a lot from your class.
Thank you very much!

Had Jack for HCOM 100 [Introduction to Human Communication] & 235 [Essentials of Argumentation]. Literally the best teacher at CSUF. He’s the reason I am an HCOM major. He makes class worthwhile, enjoyable, interesting. You’ll be surprised by how much information you’ll retain by the end of the semester! Genius of a teacher. Absolute GENIUS. And he looks like the pirate version of Ben Franklin. Extra win.

I want to let you know that ever since I turned 20 I’ve been thinking a lot about the person I am and the man that I want to become and am becoming now. I want to be someone that people can look up to and say ‘damn that’s how I want to be.
I just wanted to apologize for not taking the grade part of your class seriously. I want you to know that what I took from your class is worth more than a grade.
Thank you.

There isn’t a place I’d rather be on Valentine’s Day than with my debate team! I love my second family! I feel so blessed to have you in my life. I am so proud to call you my coach, but even more proud to call you my friend. xoxo

Class last night was very insightful; it always is. I enjoyed last nights class even more because of your amazing personality & jokes. I can only speak for myself, but after a long, deep, and intense lecture I’m left speechless. Thank you Jack Mierop for choosing to be a professor & teaching us what we should know about interpersonal communication.
You’re the best!
~ Rita
Dear Mr. Jack,
I just wanted to give you my sincere thanks for all you have taught me this semester. I truly enjoyed your class and hope to have the opportunity to take another. You are truly one of the best teachers I have had so far.
Once again thank you,

I got accepted into the internship program I wanted this week so that was rad! I also played a show at the House of Blues in Hollywood last month and am working on an album that should be released in 2014! I’ve been vegan for 3 months now and its had such a positive effect on me.
Lots of little changes but they’ve all been amazing

I just wanted to thank you for everything you taught in class and spending time with me outside of class, as well as the book (almost done with it). I had my first true heart-to-heart conflict resolution talk with my best friend, where I almost ended it & instead meet with her face-to-face and by the end we both understood each other’s perspectives and thought of ways to communicate better, in general & during certain situations to prevent a repeat of things coming between our friendship. I’ve never done that before where I addressed the issue head on and in a positive way. So I wanted to share this with you and say thank you for everything you’ve taught me.

I took your class a few years ago…my first semester at CSUF, possibly 2007. I remember really enjoying your class and loving your teaching method. I found you absolutely hilarious! I learned so much about interpersonal communication, and about myself in your class.

As far I am concerned college is supposed to be fun and interacting but as well as intellectual. I remember my freshman year I had very cool professors but not all of them are very one-on-one with their students. Professor Mierop changed my aspect in the way of teaching methods to his students.
Ever since I first entered the class room I noticed his positive and high energy vibe. From the beginning he seemed like he understood his students because he was one himself once as well. As the class proceeded deeper into the semester we became more like a family and we acted like one as well. There was not one student that did not know about the other and a little bit about them. Lectures were always interacting and the class would always participate even when they did not want to. It was a matter of always making his students laugh and having us understand his class in a broader view and ways that can be and were applicable to our own lives. He became a really good friend to us and to what had become his family.

“The way you think is the way you feel!”
Woke up at 5:30 today for work and felt tired as fuck but I thought about this quote and changed my whole attitude. It’s friday! I shouldn’t feel down.
Thanks Jack!

I enjoy your teaching methods. You seem to really know how to try to inspire your students. Your methods are unique and it helps me to stay awake during class. 🙂 In fact, when I first heard you speak I thought to myself, FINALLY a professor who’s interesting!

Jack Mierop is the best Speech teacher that I have taken. He doesn’t teach right out from the book. He cares for all his students. He relates to his students and he really makes learning fun. Very cool guy. I recommend taking him.

I just wanted to take the time to tell you how amazing of a teacher you are, and how much I enjoyed HCOM.
I know I probably wasn’t the most active in the conversations/lectures, but I promise you, everything you taught us, I took to heart. What you’ve taught me inside and outside of class has helped me tremendously.
High school was a really brutal time in my life, and I really had so many things going on that I didn’t know how to deal with any of it. I really just disconnected myself from everyone. Luckily I had a best friend who stood by me during my worst times.
I just wanted you to know that the things I’ve learned from you and this class have helped me sooooo much in figuring out the person I want to be and how I treat people. I was a really mean person back in high school, and I wasn’t really doing it on purpose, I just didn’t realize how rude I could be. After a while I realized how mean I could be at times, but I didn’t know how to change it.
I guess what I’m trying to say is that you’ve helped me to become a better person, and for that, I am very grateful.

Dear Jack,
I want to thank you for all the school lectures about communication and about life that you shared with us. I learned so much that I am extremely happy to have taken your class. I have recommended you to all my friends and even family members who need some guidance and I know 100% that you will help them also.
I will miss you very much, but life has to go on. I will never forget you. You are a role model and a very influential individual and I know you will help a lot of kids. Keep up the excellent work. I can’t say goodbye because I will always see you in all my communication ways. 🙂
From the bottom of my heart, Jack, I thank you for everything. God bless you!
Truly,
~ Karla

Well I just wanted to say class on Thursday really meant something to me and I know it sounds lame but it really opened my eyes and finally shook me awake to let me know I was in a very abusive relationship…
You truly are my favorite teacher and I look forward to everyday in your class…thanks so much!!
~ Kellie
I thought that it was interesting when you talked about waking up the subconscious to become aware of a certain behavior, and then being able to change that behavior. When it comes to my family and close friends, I have always been one to speak what is on my mind (despite whether what I was going to say would hurt someone’s feelings). I’ve pretty much held this label of being brutally honest as a positive attribute and thought, “Well, at least they know how I truly feel.”
It really hit me when you said how people excuse their behavior by saying, “That’s just me. That’s who I am.” And I can honestly say that I’ve been doing that for years. I look forward to learning how much of an a-hole I really am!
I also look forward to learning why I am the way that I am. This could get ugly! 🙂
~ Katherine
Thank you so much Jack for everything you taught me this semester! This was a class that will stick with me throughout my life and I’m glad I had a teacher like you that was that passionate about teaching!
Again thank you much for everything! Have a wonderful summer!
~ Adriana
Thank you again.

After attending your class this semester I learned a lot about human communication, and living my OWN life. I have practiced your advice and it has helped tremendously! It has helped me more than I thought a GE class would. I hope to stay in touch with you throughout my years of college, I’ve never had a person to look up to and after being in your class I feel I can relate to you.
Thank you,
~ Cade
