If you tell a kid to “not swing at the low pitch, don’t swing at the low ball, don’t swing at the low ball and whatever you do, don’t swing at the lowball” then a thought has been created about the low ball. The focus is made. Similar is the issue with many psychological issues. If you focus on “not” wanting to be depressed or “not” wanting to feel controlled or “not” wanting to be made fun of then we are staring at a problem. Maybe poking the wound but not healing it. Its a compass, make no mistake.

Every strong emotional reaction is a reason to learn something great about the self. When something bothers you significantly, you want the opposite. And to get the opposite you have to use the imagination to create and emotionally fund it. This takes some calculating, fantasizing and then the hardest part, you must release from the obligation to to escape. The goal must be written and imagined without lack. OUr minds jump to worry of what we know in the past which has hurt us most and to what we think we need most. Again, here is what we want most but its also fear. A temperament of cowardice brings nothing sweet nor filling. To release from one’s pains in an imagination is easy if seen as a fantasy but difficult if seen as required. Its a trick but its not difficult rather just a new step to one who has fear. And only one in fear uses this, it is normal.
