The human mind hates being cheated. The human mind is also much more stupid than it will allow itself to realize. We work for five days in a row and every one of them we could be told we had to work longer, thus making us feel victorious and lucky each time we get the early off hours. If we worked for the same five days and expected to work shorter, we’d be pissy. This is how humans fuck themselves with their expectations, lack of realism, sunken cost fallacy, and in not realizing that we’re idiots by nature. The idea of working forever is daunting as is the idea of not reaching one’s goal. So the idea to wield here is to understand what you’re working at and how long it’s going to take.

So often we start mindless tasks and thus use no measurement to gauge what we’re doing. This is toxic. Any workload one sets towards will instantaneously be shorter and more manageable in concept and emotional weight when there is a goal to it. There will be times when the job is enormous and for this sake, set small goals to meet. Give yourself a five step jump. When the mind sees a thing it can do, for sure, it gets excited and that passion makes the efforts more efficient and faster or at least seem faster. Always do this, it makes making the work fun an easy process. Babysteps are the key to everything. Without that lack of complication one finds themselves running on stumps or never ever starting the task at all. Often they will only get on the task when it has become a giant tidal wave about to overflow so it now has importance on mass alone. That’s fucking dumb and a great way to make a mess of your life.

So take babysteps for all your pains and great plans to make them start simply and flow with order. Set little waypoints to reach in front of yourself creating movement in a directed and desired manner. Give yourself breaks and pace in the gauging of a plan to allow proper rest and awareness of progress or new problems kept in check reward yourself for progress. Do not jump to conclusions about your ability or the nature of your task at hand but continue them fluidly and at peace with that decided flow.
