It is important to know one’s values and ideals if you’re going to count on someone and love them. You should always count on yourself and love yourself. Here’s the score, people are given values by their upbringing and their culture. When someone “buys in” they have agreed and accepted those values as their own. Shitty thing nowadays is that our culture is so rapid with advertising that people have accepted values by clever sales techniques and mass repetition as well as herd behavior. Growing up means questioning those and creating, deciding your own.
I was raised by a salesman so I have been deeper in the trenches of sales and psychological manipulation than most. When something is given so much value in an subtle and sure way, without directly asking but impending and commandingly, we find ourselves wanting it. Thats great sales technique and the more rushed a life is, the less a cognizant life can stop and figure themselves out. One must not be swept away. Thinking things through right here and now is key.
In an age when we are told we’re fat, stupid, never happy enough, and that we should follow our dreams, it’s obvious that sales has reached a high excellence; since those things are both conflicting and only relative standards. Emphasize must stay on the self as clear judgement instead of outside approval. Once outside validation is needed and sought out, the whole systems gone quagmire. Remember that only outside validation can matter AFTER one’s own personal validation has been given to it. Decide what you think is important on a situational and circumstantial deadline, you do not owe anyone a much of preconceived notions; that’s where the headless rush begins.
Sticking to one’s own values means finding what feels real. The waters through this which seem dangerous are simply normal problems that occur in all walks of life, they’re not scary. However all the old sales techniques and force fed, herd behaviors come back into play really damn quick here. One does not only have to establish their new values after questioning the old crap but also put them into play. Delivery is half of what makes a message. This is a conversation with a person and the world around them about who they are. How you make that known is enormous. Plan that out with determination so to not stop after failures or speed bumps. Stare into success and keep making adjustments and be patient until it blooms.
Be afraid of doing things you never thought you could. Let the fear fill you up, this is important and real. Once the full worry is upon you, then you tell it to go fuck itself. The mind and ego naturally blocks fear from focus as one wants to see themselves as great. This balance is key. This newness is prime. You being put into the real fray which your brain, self, family, and anybody else involved with is blocking you from, is the goal. Humans have evolved to be afraid of the unknown as its where danger mainly comes from. Facing the emotions your mind has established and telling them that they’re silly is not hard. Following through with beating them is not hard. The little part of your mind which wants to call it hard, shutting that thing up is the most difficult step here. It is not hard, chill out.
Follow your passion, accept your fears and let them go, embrace the new and make more new. You are not a customer, this is your world. You own it all and is belongs to you.
